Monthly, I work closely with Modelogic Wilhemina Modeling Agency helping new/aspiring models and actors obtain comp cards that appeal to the Richmond, VA market. Today was a great day. All the models were so eagered to learn and do well on their shoot.
NOTE TO NEW MAKEUP ARTISTS: Try and connect with a modeling agency to see if you can participant in any program that they have in place that will allow you to work with new talent. You will gain so much experience with working with different people, perfecting your craft and developing a longstanding relationship that will in the long run give you access to their top models for developing your portfolio.
Developing your technique is key to making a name for yourself. So practice, practice, practice and even when you think you got it, keep finding opportunities that will give you free range to be creative and gain new skill sets.
Lastly, seek out makeup artists in your area that you admire, contact them to see if they are looking for any assistants at that time. You may luck up and if you do, show him/her that you are committed to their brand, that you are willing to do what it takes to be on their team and that you are s there to help them as well as learn and perfect your craft. When working under that artist, always go above and beyond to make them look good you know why, because with hard work and persistence, one day you'll be in the same position to do the same for someone else so treat them how you would want you're assistant to treat you.
Two Makeup Shows are coming up soon on the East Coast: IMATS April 9 and 10th and The Makeup Show May 15 and 16th 2011, ARE YOU READY!
Ok, some clean outtakes from the Modelogic Wilhemina New Models Test Shoot. Always, we give models the cleanest makeup applications and pretty hair. Depending on the model, we "edge them out sometimes" :)
